Wind Assessments
Conducting Wind Resource Assessments is phase one of a two-phase project. It is done by erecting one wind assessment tower 60 meters high and collecting data measuring wind speeds, wind direction, and temperature at ground level.
This is done over a one-year period. If you are part of a First Nations community and are close to a body of water and have a significant amount of open space, this could be your chance to “own your future”. The wind energy will be harvested on your land and will be yours to sell to other communities or to the grid. This service can be a central component of creating strong futures driven by sustainable locally owned economies. With a strengthened economy based on a resource that is in harmony with our land, we fulfil our cultural responsibility to create balance.

Wind Power Development
Wind power is a valuable resource that can be harvested. The Abor Group will assist your community to develop your wind farm and help you get to the point where you are ready to generate your own power.
We will also work with you to establish a Community Management Resource Committee for the project. As well, The Abor Group will provide the expertise and execution to secure available government funding. As project managers, we will work with you to overcome any regulatory issues and bring the project to build ready status.

Environmental Site Assessments
When land is purchased, an Environmental Site Assessment must be done if there is concern that contaminants may be present. This is done in two phases.
The first phase is a paper or desktop phase in which The Abor Group researches the history of the land and any possible contaminants that could have been used. They look for any manufacturing that could have been done in the past and any waste tanks that may have existed.

The second phase is a confirmation of phase one. It is a physical ground study of the land, in which The Abor Group studies samples of possible contaminants.

Environmental Screening Reports
The process of completing a regulated Environmental Screening Report is both time-consuming and tedious. The purpose of the assessment is to determine the impact of a proposed project on the environment.
The Abor Group can work with you to develop the ESR or review and summarize already completed ESR’s that may affect your territory. Our commitment to the environment, combined with their familiarity with First Nations communities and unique challenges, ensures a report or analysis that provides the real impact and true cost of your proposed project.
Our Philosophy
The Abor Group has a background that is rich in its native roots. Our work stems out of our commitment to the ideal that, “we all eat from one dish”. Our dish is the Land. Our Mother has given us corn, squash and beans, the sisters of sustenance and we must all work to keep the dish clean. The Abor Group is dedicated to developing sustainable green power that has the least negative environmental impact as possible.

Our Goal
The Abor Group's goal is to help First Nation communities reclaim their role as stewards of our land. We do that through the development of environmentally friendly power sources. We are dedicated to helping First Nation communities to build economic engines to allow self-sufficiency.
